6m expedition in January 2003

One of two amateur radio bands – after the first article about the 7OGN antenna for this band, I prepared for you an overview of the announced expeditions for January 2003. Yes, I know, is already half of it, I promise but, that in the future I will bring you this information on time.

ZS – South Africa: the occasional station with the ZS90SAP brand will be active from January 1 to December 31 2003 on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the South African Police Service (SAPS). This organization since 1913 aims to promote the rule of law and ensure security for all people in South Africa. Members of the Vaal Triangle amateur club led by Jan Swanepoel, ZS6ZYM, they will work under this brand throughout the year 2003. You can find them in 80/40/20/10m as well as 6/2m and 70cm. QSL FO0AAA OA – Peru: Martin, PA3GFE will spend almost six months (8.October 2002 – 31.March 2003) in Peru and Ecuador. It will work on CW/SSB bands 40 – 10m + 6m roughly until the first of January. QSL to home brand (the tickets will be printed and sent out when he gets home).

Northeast and east of the USA – Congo: Walser, CT3HK, was active last week as TN3S. Broadcasting of UN members is usually on 21,211 MHz around 22.26 UTC. According to available reports, he has been working in Congo for one year, but only now he got his license. He will stay there for another three years. The difficulties are making him big pile-ups so far, so he will work closely with Luis CT3DL, who will compile the letters. He will work from 80 po 6m, most likely SSB only. 9V – Singapore: after a long time he is a Saxon, 9V1SM, QRV from Singapore on all bands from 40 po 6m, especially SSB. If all goes according to the ideas, PSK will also work in about a month 31. QSL via W3HNK.

QSL VU2ZAP JD1 – Ogasawara: several operators will broadcast under the brand 8N1OGA from Ogasawara around the period from 15 September 2002 until the end of January 2003 on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of JARL. The preliminary license allows them to work in all modes (aj SAT) with a power of 1 kW and 500 W at 6 m. 8N1OGA is equipped with two workstations with direction indicators, dipole, verticals to the lower bands. They will also participate in larger contests. V3 – Belize: Joe Pontek K8JP returns to Belize around November 20th and will remain there until April 2003. It will work under the V31JP brand from 160 after 6m especially CW, exceptionally also SSB or RTTY. QSL via KA9WON. Website: http://mywebpage.netscape.com/v31jp/homepage.html.

QSL LU1ZC HR – Honduras: Gerard F2JD will be in Honduras from December 10th to March 3rd 2003. It will be broadcast from 160 after 6m SSB / CW on the HR5 / F2JD mark from La Entrada de Copan, possibly also from several IOTAs. QSL via F6AJA, rather directly than through the bureau.

FG – Guadelope: Jack, F6HMJ will broadcast on KV under the brand TO2FG + 6m from NA-102 from December 16 to January 14. QSL via F6HMJ.

QSL H44PT WP2Z – US Virgin Islands: John WZ8D and Joe W8GEX and their wives will be from December 30th to January 8th 2003 active from WP2Z on bands from 160 po 6m. Joe plans PSK operation, John wants to focus mainly on six-meter and CW on the lower bands. On 50,125 will RX USA and 50,110 pre me, in case of opening it will be on 50,122 CW/SSB. QSL to home brands with SASE/SAE+IRC.

PJ4 – Netherlands Antilles: Chris DL5NAM will be broadcasting from Bonaire as PJ4/DL5NAM from January 2 to 18. On vacation, he mainly wants to dive and in his free time he will QRV mainly on RTTY and 6m. QSL via bureau or direct DL5NAM.

QSL D44BC HC1 – Ecuador: Andy NP3D will be broadcasting from Quito as HC1/NP3D between January 22 and 27 2003. CW/SSB will be active on all KV bands (and WARC) as well as on 6m. He will also participate in the 160m CQ WW CW contest in the LP category. QSL via W3HNK.

KH0 – Northern Mariana Islands: JI3DLI will broadcast from Saipan from January 10 to 13 2003 na KV+6m ako KH0/JI3DLI. QSL to home brand. From January 31 to February 3, station KH0/JN1MYM will also broadcast from Saipan, QSL also to home brand. JA5AUC will also broadcast from February 7 to 12 on KV+6m as KH0/JA5AUC. QSL also to home brand. Shortly (from March 11 to March 13 2003) will be active on these bands from Saipan as well as KH0/JR1KGF. QSL in this case also to the home brand.

QSL 5A1A HH2 – Haiti: Hans DL7CM and Sid DM2AYO will be from January 30th to February 16th 2003 under the tags HH2/DL7CM and HH2/DM2AYO broadcast from Haiti. The local authorities did not issue them 4V tags. We can find them on KV+6m CW/SSB/RTTY, with an emphasis on the lower bands, 6m a RTTY. Website: http://www.qsl.net/dl7cm/haiti.htm.
