Amateur websites using CMS Joomla

At the end of last year, I went through the website of the Slovak radio amateurs, while I was particularly interested in the solution and presentation of the collective station OM5M (OM3KFF). Upon closer examination it turned out, that this is the use of CMS (Content Management System – web publishing system) labeled Joomla. I tried installing the version 1.0.11 of the Joomla system and I was thrilled with the speed of the installation, I was fully satisfied with the constant information about the result of setting the individual installation steps and the installed pages. I definitely recommend this system even to amateurs with less knowledge of web programming and administration, however, it requires a web server with PHP scripting language and MySQL database. The Joomla system can be supplemented with various modules and components for a specific website presentation, which are also very easy to install from the CMS administrative interface. So I supplemented the pages with a gallery of eQSL tickets and, with my own programming, a search in the station diary. A short overview of amateur websites with this system is given at http://www.kanich.net/radio/cms/content/view/35/33/.
