1. Validity
These conditions are valid from 1.1.2001, with the exception of point 13 (competition diaries), which will start to apply from 1.11.2001. Until then, diaries can also be sent according to the general terms and conditions in force until now. This means that logs can be sent either electronically or in printed form. VHF however, the SZR commission recommends sending diaries in electronic EDI format since the beginning of 2001.
The conditions apply to all VKV competitions announced by the Slovak Association of Radio Amateurs. For each race, the announcer can define other additional conditions that supplement or expand these conditions.
50 MHz IARU contest, memoriál Ondreja Oravca a Operating assets VHF/UKV are governed by their own conditions.
2. General conditions
Only one valid connection can be counted with each station on each competition band, in which the competition code was sent and confirmed by both stations.
It is allowed to use during the race DX cluster or other similar information networks.
Competing stations are also obliged to comply with the valid licensing and competition conditions in international races, even if this harms them in relation to other competitors.
In the national order, only those stations that will participate in the race from the territory of the Slovak Republic will be evaluated. Logs received from other stations will be used for checking purposes only.

3. Competitive QTH
A competitive QTH is a site from which one station (one or more operators) will participate in the contemplated race on one or more bands. Competitive QTH is:
a) still QTH – is clearly given by the addresses of permanent residence and permanent place of residence listed in the authorization document. If the permanent site is on a hill, point c) applies.
b) transient QTH – is such a station outside the permanent QTH, which is not a dimension
c) dimension – is a hill (place) outside the urban area of towns and villages. The minimum height above sea level is 200m.
Competitive QTH - quotas are allocated according to the "Regulations for allocation of quotas for VKV races".
Only one station can work on the same band from one elevation (hill). Unless the stations agree otherwise, other stations may broadcast on the same band up to a distance of at least 5000m from the broadcasting station of the station with an assigned quota, or 500m if the stations broadcast on different bands.
Changing the competition QTH during the race is not allowed.
4. Competition categories
Numbering of categories:
| 1. | 144 MHz – SO | 10. | 5.7 GHz - MO |
| 2. | 144 MHz – MO | 11. | 10 GHz – SO |
| 3. | 432 MHz – SO | 12. | 10 GHz - MO |
| 4. | 432 MHz – MO | 13. | 24 GHz – Sat |
| 5. | 1.3 GHz - SO | 14. | 24 GHz - MO |
| 6. | 1.3 GHz - MO | 15. | 47 GHz – SO |
| 7. | 2.3 GHz - SO | 16. | 47 GHz - MO |
| 8. | 2.3 GHz - MO | 17. | 76 GHz – SO |
| 9. | 5.7 GHz - SO | 18. | 76 GHz - MO |
Individual stations, Single Op. (SO) – these are stations operated by an individual who, during the race, carries out his own broadcasting, receiving on another device, keeping a diary, keeping an overview of the stations, etc., without any help from other people. The establishment of a station before the start of the race and the liquidation of the station after the race is not considered assistance in the race.
Stations of several operators, Multi Op. (MO) – it's the other stations.

5. Types of operation
In the race, CW and FONE operations are allowed - according to the permit conditions, while it is necessary to follow the recommendations of the permanent working group of IARU region, regarding the use of different types of operation in different VHF frequency bands.
6. Output of the final stage of the transmitter
The maximum output of the final stage of the transmitter is according to the permit conditions, unless otherwise specified.
7. Competition signal
Each station may have only one competing signal on one band at a time. Signals necessary for connection to the packet radio network are not considered competitive.

8. Contest Code
During connections, a contest code consisting of RS or RST, the sequence number of the connection from 001 on each competitive band and WW locator, unless otherwise specified.
9. Scoring
Unless otherwise specified, points are given for one kilometer of covered distance measured or calculated according to the system WW locator one point. At the same time, this distance must not exceed the actual distance by more than 5 km. 1 point is counted for connecting to a station in the locator's own small square (eg from JN88NE to JN88NE).
According to the recommendation of IARU Region I, a coefficient of 111.2 should be used for the conversion of degrees to kilometers, taking into account the curvature of the Earth.
Repeated connections must be marked in the log (RPT, DUPE, etc.) with a point value of 0.
10. Invalid connections
Crossband connections do not apply in races, EME, MS and connections established through ground or space transmitters.

11. Own WW locator
The own WW locator must be entered correctly and the tolerance to reality must not exceed a circle with a diameter of 1 km.
The WGS-84 (World Geodetic System 1984) system is used to determine the latitude and longitude of the competition site, from which the locator is calculated.
12. Connection times
The times given in the competition diary must be in UTC only. Connections started before the official start of the race or started after the official end of the race are void.
13. Competition diary
The competition diary is sent exclusively in electronic form in the EDI format. Logs sent in a different format will only be used for review. The competition diary must be sent no later than the tenth day after the race to the evaluator's address, either on a diskette or by e-mail.

14. Deductions of points for connection
Based on the recommendation of the VKV Commission IARU Region I, the points deductions for the connection are as follows:
a) The connection is invalid if the station has any error in the log in the received mark or code, that is, in the report, connection sequence number and locator.
b) If the connection time has a difference of more than 10 minutes from the correct UTC time.
c) For a repeated and counted connection, ten times the point value of the counted repeated connection will be deducted from the controlled station.
15. Station disqualification
A station will be disqualified for:
a) for non-compliance with the competition conditions
b) for listing unfulfilled connections in the competition journal
c) for false data in the competition diary
d) for specifying a time other than UTC
e) for more than 10% of incorrectly calculated distances
f) for broadcasting from a competitive QTH that was assigned to another station, if a dispute arises between these stations over a competitive QTH
