Hello, Do you have any experience with my red car going that way??
Type of switched source?
Radio type?
Bands used?Pre VHF / UHF FM trx, some similar sources can be used, it's not so rosy for KV anymore.
Source is Mean Well RSP 320-12 and TRX is TS120S,also KV 80 up to 10 m. Thanks Jozef
You can connect, as long as it is not induced on the 12V VF line, so nothing should happen to the radio, but to be sure, I would put a couple of 16V transils on the output in parallel and I would at least thread the cables through a couple of threads through a larger toroid. Induced HF to the power supply from the TX can cause an increase in the output voltage.
You have to find out for yourself if and how much the RX will interfere. That source is not built for KV radio.
Thanks for the advice,I'll try ,The source converted from PC has already left VF,j And that's only if it's not a classic source. I'll see,I'll probably support it temporarily with an autobattery.
73 Jozef OM1LAJust one note, some radios at 12 V give less power or their modulation is distorted. Especially new devices are sensitive to this fact and need those 13,8 V. Then it may seem like, that VF penetrates into the source. You need to hook the filter, e.g. from some radio and IC 706 and place it between the source and the radio. It's all a matter of experimentation, because every case is different.
All these sources are practically made the same. I have been using the IC-706MKII for four years without any problems (digimode). Setting the voltage to 13.8V is a matter of turning one trimmer. A yard (cjb)I use a modified source from a computer (2x22ohm 5w resistor in parallel in the 5V branch fixed from the inside on the grid of the source box) to mobile phone FM and 10m CB radio and no one ever complained about bad modulation or hum. The source can also be selected from a discarded computer or, at worst, bought for €15.
Thanks for all the info,I'm going to put it on today,it is essentially a raw part with an open terminal board for mains voltage as well,so I have to wire it safely,I will try what it will do reinforced by aitobattery and if it will suit,it will also fit into the cabinet with current measurement.
73 Jozef 1LAHi Joseph, zdroj Mean Well RSP 320-12 can give 26A so carefully with a car battery, it is not recommended to charge more than 0.2C (it means that it should have >130Ah). It depends on the type, can it be topped up, but if you exceed 0.2C, goodies will be released into the air.

I also have a 25A SNZ for TRX, but that one is sitting on the shelf, jeho ventilator mi vadi 😉But as pointed out by OM3CVV, when powered from a lower voltage, which is also the case of running from the ACCU, you need to have as little losses as possible (transition resistances) on cables, fuses and terminals (fuse cases and 5m cables are a very common problem). This means the radio is connected directly to the ACCU.

Until recently I used a desktop station (FT 747GX, 100W) on KV 80-10m, edited pc resource, ktory vsak dosluzil (vyfukal condik). That's why I'm currently thinking about what to do next and I'm considering the following options:
– repair pc resource (resp. modify others for the same way of use)
– buy (resp. put together a source that contains a transformer)

Every switched source produces interference. Sometimes it is already noticeable during reception in the form of recordings, growlers, the forest.
It's worse when broadcasting, where the drawn current is larger and unwanted impulses are directly delivered to the PA power transistors. In this way, we will transmit interference through the antenna to the airwaves. The explanation is in the state 7:http://www.ok2kkw.com/qrm2vpz.htm
I definitely recommend a classic transformer source with good stabilization. The cheaper ones are usable http://www.rmitaly.com/index.php/en/products/linear-power-supplies after adding a cooling fan.
Hi,
i use this http://elix.cz/produkt/alinco-dm-330-fx-2530a-regul-meridlo-av/ and I don't have the slightest problem, an excellent thing is the possibility to set the clock frequency of the source to remove possible products (for 10 it happened to me about 2 times).
