Tube Data Sheet Locator Personal edition (TDSL), this is the complete name of the program, which contains the above data 19 thousand tubes. It was written and compiled by Duncan Munro with the help of Steve Bench. It is distributed as a fully functional trial version. However, the upgrade with the new data is paid and worth it 29,95$.
TDSL runs on any PC with W95, W98 or NT. On your hard drive “bites” little thing, approx 1 MB.

When launched, you will be greeted by the main screen of the program. In the left part “Filter” is a list of electronics by search result, in the larger, the right part of the screen is the data. A socket connection is available, known replacements, limit values, operating values ​​and lines.

Although the database contains data above 19 thousands of electronics, the vast majority does not contain all the data. Specific socket connection 4386 (23%), known replacements 8579 (45%), limit and operating values ​​approx 2800 (15%) a linky 13 274 (69,7%). So at least something about each tube. Little, who have access to the Internet will not have problems, because they can search for data via lines in the program. Of course, after paying for the upgrade, the database is more detailed.

The most important feature is the search. TDSL searches in two ways. The first is the search by type. Just enter the part type (e.g.EF) and then select the desired lamp from the list. The second way of searching focuses on parameters. Requirements will be defined (napr.Ua>1000V a Ia>0,5A) and the program searches for all tubes that meet these requirements.

The good old TESLA Tube Manual Catalog will not replace this program. However, I found the vast majority of electronics in it. Of course, that it primarily depends on the size of the database. It will certainly expand in the future, therefore, I see his chance of success. Overall, I rate two.
