OK-OM DX Contest

  • Date of the race: The second full weekend in November, UTC 1200 Saturday – 1200 Sunday
    (13.-14. 11. 2010, 12.-13. 11. 2011)
  • Type of operation: CW
  • Bands: 1.8 to 28 MHz, outside the WARC band
  • category:
    1. One operator – all bands, power to 1500 W (SOAB HP)
    2. One operator – all bands, power to 100 W (SOAB LP)
    3. One operator – one band, power to 1500 W (SOSB HP)
    4. One operator – one band, power to 100 W (SOSB LP)
    5. One operator – QRP (power to 5 W, only all bands)
    6. Multiple operators, one transmitter (MS) – all bands, performance according to permitting conditions
    7. Audience (SWL)

The use of a DX cluster is allowed in all categories. One operator can log in to more than one category and) – e) (thus e.g.. at the same time SOAB, SO SB 20m a SO SB 80m). Pro kategorii MS: the shortest working time on one band is 10 minutes. A quick band change to obtain a new multiplier is allowed (i.e.. when establishing a connection in band A, it is possible to make a multiplier in band B and return to band A).

  • Establishing a QSO: OK / OL / OM establish connections only with stations outside OK / OL / OM. Stations outside OK / OL / OM only establish connections with OK / OL / OM stations. A connection to one station is valid only once on each band.
  • Transmitted code: OK / OL / OM: RST + district emblem (e.g. 599 BPZ). Stations outside OK / OL / OM: RST + starting serial number of the connection 001.
  • Multipliers: OK / OL / OM: WPX prefixes on each band separately. Stations outside OK / OL / OM: districts in each zone separately.
  • Body za QSO: OK / OL / OM: ME = 1 that, I treat = 3 body, EU stations: 1 that, stations outside the EU: 3 body.
  • Result: The total result is the product of the total number of points and the total number of multipliers.
  • Rules for students: Listeners can count each station on each band only once. For each duly recorded QSO (date, UTC, zone, station sign, sent competition code and mark of the opposite station) on each band is counted 1 that (the station you are listening to is on the same continent, as a listener), resp. 3 body (the station you are listening to is on another continent, than the listener). Therefore, if both transmitted codes are recorded, these are two separate records and points are counted for both stations, each on a separate line in the competition diary, including point evaluation and marking of possible multiplier – in this case, it is possible to obtain up to 4 body (3+1) and up to 2 multipliers. SWL from OK and OM count points for listening to all stations, other SWL only points for listening to OK / OL / OM stations. Multipliers for SWL from OK and OM are station prefixes outside OK / OL / OM and OK / OL / OM station districts regardless of bands. Multipliers for SWL outside the OK and OM territories are OK / OL / OM station districts in each band separately.

    Diaries:

    1. Všechny deníky mají obsahovat tyto informace: date, UTC, zone, counter station sign, transmitted code, received code, new multiplier, body za každé QSO. Listeners write down the date, UTC, zone, the list of the station being listened to, sent code, counter station sign, body, new multiplier. Pokud je deník posílán v elektronické podobě, není třeba mít v deníku vyznačená opakovaná QSO, body a násobiče, nor the calculated total result.
    2. Spojení by měla být seřazeny chronologicky, regardless of the bands. V denících formátu Cabrillo se kategorie píší do jednoho řádku a oddělují čárkou (e.g. “CATEGORY: SINGLE-OP ALL HIGH, SINGLE-OP 10M HIGH”) – detailed instructions here.
    3. Sumář by měl být součástí každého deníku a obsahovat všechny odpovídající údaje potřebné pro výpočet konečného výsledku (není nutné u elektronických deníků), description of the device, power used, name, adresu pro korespondenci (e-mail is not enough) a čestné prohlášení o dodržení podmínek závodu. If the log is sent on a floppy disk, a paper summary is also attached.
    4. All participants, who use a computer to create a journal, send the log as a data file. Summary (not required when using the Cabrillo format) is named e.g.. OL5Y.SUM. Elektronický deník v jakémkoli formátu je vždy lepší, than paper!

Penalties: All QSOs, which contain an error (wrong brands, bad received codes) a QSO, which are not in the diary of the counter station, will not be counted. The same number of points obtained by counting the erroneous QSO will be deducted for each connection containing a mark error or which does not appear in the logbook of the opposite station. (not multipliers). 10% and more faulty connections may be the reason, that the station will not be included in the rating.

  • Order, diplomas and awards: Participants are evaluated in three divisions – OK / OM, ME, DX. In each division, the order will be compiled according to individual categories. The diploma will be awarded to all stations located in the first half of each category. In addition, all stations will be drawn 10 participants, who receive a t-shirt with a race motif. In addition, winners of various plaque categories can receive, if he weighs at least 73 QSO in single-band category, 200 QSO v QRP nebo 400 QSO in the all-band category. One station can receive a maximum of one plaque in a given year, and that for categories, in which she achieved the most points. The list of plaques and relevant sponsors is given in the appendix to the race conditions and is continuously updated okomdx.crk.cz.
