OM5APM and 1.Subregional races

I like contesting… although at home QTH (JN98AH) such antenna systems cannot be built, as I would have imagined, I try to participate in at least such contests, which are available to me – within antennas and devices.

I bought 9 el on Thursday. Cue Dee na 144MHz – I recently wanted to make a signpost myself, but for reasons of time and especially lack of material, I chose a simpler form. On Friday, the antenna was already installed (firmly directed – without rotator).

D-day has arrived – Saturday, 1.subregional races.
My devices for operation were:
TRX = TXR 210 (Snowball)
PWR = 10W (at that length of coax + ANT was not on 100% it was probably only QRPP that was adapted…)
ANT = 9el.Cue Dee – powered 50 ohmic coax – approx. 30m from the roof to the Ham shack

Here and there I climbed on the roof to turn the ANT… of course, that with a rotator it would be about something else, because I couldn't turn it in all directions like this (there is no need to unnecessarily irritate the neighbors). Because of that, that I didn't have the key to CW, which I would plug into the TRX, so I worked only SSB.

Here are my results: Number of QSOs on SSB = 78
Division:
OM = 45 QSO, longest QSO with OM6AM = 104 km
OK = 18 QSO, longest QSO with OK2CRT = 250 km
OE = 8 QSO, longest QSO with OE5D = 353 km
HA = 3 QSO, longest QSO with HA6KVC/P = 144 km
S5 = 2 QSO, longest QSO with S53J = 386 km
DL = 1 QSO, longest QSO with DL0AO = 468 km *my longest QSO in the contest*
SQ = 1 QSO, SQ9ACK = 196 km

Many stations complained about the low participation of stations in the sub-regional, but I can't assess it so objectively, because I have not participated in this race before.

I wish everyone much success in their amateur activities and, above all, a lot of fun on the radio.

Sincerely, OM5APM – Peter, Nitra
