Amateur radio meeting of the Tatras 2023

The Slovak Association of Radio Amateurs organizes 47. year of the meeting of TATRA radio amateurs, which will take place from 17. do 19. November 2023 at the Satel Hotel in Poprad. It is located in the tourist center of the city on Mnoheľová street, near the railway and bus station, and is easily accessible by all modes of transport. Parking is possible in the vicinity of the hotel.

The meeting will include a proven program including a vendor exhibition, of the amateur radio exchange, lectures and presentations. The Saturday evening hamfest will not take place, however, there will be enough space for personal meetings and discussions of the participants.

The meeting will also include a sales part, where companies and stockbrokers will offer a range of radio amateurs. SZR will have a separate booth with QSL service, the possibility to pay the next year's membership and subscription to Rádiožurnál.

Participants order accommodation and meals directly through the hotel, and therefore SZR will not provide applications for the meeting, accommodation or catering.

The program of the meeting includes the opening of the radio amateur exchange and vendor stands on Friday from 14:00 do 21:00 We are looking forward to an informal meeting of all those interested in receiving signals from meteorological satellites in the clubhouse KD no 9:00 do 14:00. Saturday's professional program consists of lectures and presentations on various topics, allowing participants to gain new knowledge from experienced lecturers.

The ceremonial opening of the meeting will take place on Saturday 10:00, where there will be information about the activities of the SZR for the last year and diplomas and plaques for the competitions. A public meeting of the ARES coordination center led by Stan OM8ST will be held by Fr 11:00.

The afternoon program includes a presentation by Jozef OM6TC about his SOTA activities from Singapore and Australia 13:00, a lecture by Rada OM2ZZ about an effective holiday antenna by 14:00, interview with Ondro OM4DW about measurements with the nanoVNA analyzer o 15:00 and a presentation by Mira OM5RW about a successful DX expedition 3B7M to the island of St. Brandon o 16:00.

In addition to the official program, personal meetings and discussions of the participants are an integral part, which can take place in the hotel bar open on Friday and Saturday until late at night.

The meeting will conclude on Sunday after breakfast, in favorable weather, it is possible to use the proximity of the High Tatras to visit popular tourist sites.
