General conditions of races and competitions on VKV valid from 1.1.2004
1. Validity
1.1 These general conditions apply from 1.1.2004.
1.2 General conditions apply to all races on VHF, announced by the Slovak Association of Radio Amateurs. For each race, the announcer can define other additional conditions that supplement or expand these general conditions.
1.3 50 MHz IARU contest, Memorial Ondreja Oravca a Prevádzkový aktiv VKV/UKV sa riadia vlastnými podmienkami.
2. General conditions
2.1 Only one valid connection can be counted with each station on each competition band, in which the complete competition code was sent and confirmed by both stations.
2.2 It is allowed to use during the race DX cluster or other similar information networks. During the race, no form of self-announcement is allowed in the DX cluster.
2.3 Competing stations are also obliged to comply with valid licensing and competition conditions in international races, even if this harms them in relation to other competitors.
2.4 Only those stations that participate in the race from the territory of the Slovak Republic will be evaluated in the national order. Logs received from other stations will be used for checking purposes only.
3. Competitive QTH
3.1 Competition QTH is a location from which one station (one or more operators) will participate in a given race on one or more bands. Competitive QTH is:
a) still QTH – is clearly given by the addresses of the permanent residence and the permanent location listed in the permit document. If the permanent site is on a hill, point c) applies.
b) transient QTH – is a site outside the permanent QTH that is not a hill. If the transit station is on a hill, point c) applies.
c) cat – is the top of a hill or another place outside the urban area of towns and villages. The minimum elevation above sea level is 200 m.
3.2 Competition QTH - stakes (see point 3.1. letter c) are allocated, registered and occupied according to the Rules for the allocation and registration of stakes for VKV races on the territory of the Slovak Republic, which are part of these General Terms and Conditions.
3.3 From the allocated, registered and occupied quota, the station has the right to broadcast on all VHF bands in the given race. Within a radius of 5 km from the assigned quota, no other station may broadcast without the consent of the station with the assigned quota, even on unoccupied bands, except for those operating from the inner city of cities, towns and settlements.
3.4 Changing the competitive QTH station during the race is not allowed. The use of multiple competitive QTHs in one race is not allowed.
3.5 All antennas and devices used during the race must be physically located in a circle with a diameter of 500 meters.

4. Competition categories
4.1 Individual stations, Single Op. (SO) – stations operated by an individual who, during the race, carries out his own broadcasting, receiving on another device, keeping a diary, keeping an overview of stations, directing antennas, etc., without any help from other persons. The establishment of a station before the start of the race and the liquidation of the station after the race is not considered assistance in the race.
4.2 Stations of several operators, Multi Op. (MO) – other stations.
4.3 Numbering of categories:
| 1. | 144 MHz – SO | 10. | 5.7 GHz - MO |
| 2. | 144 MHz – MO | 11. | 10 GHz – SO |
| 3. | 432 MHz – SO | 12. | 10 GHz – MO |
| 4. | 432 MHz – MO | 13. | 24 GHz – SO |
| 5. | 1.3 GHz - SO | 14. | 24 GHz – MO |
| 6. | 1.3 GHz - MO | 15. | 47 GHz – SO |
| 7. | 2.3 GHz - SO | 16. | 47 GHz – MO |
| 8. | 2.3 GHz - MO | 17. | 76 GHz – SO |
| 9. | 5.7 GHz - SO | 18. | 76 GHz – MO |
5. Types of operation
5.1 CW and FONE operations are allowed in the race - according to the permit conditions, while it is necessary to follow the recommendations of the permanent working group of the IARU Region 1 commission regarding the use of different types of operation in different VHF frequency bands.

6. Output of the final stage of the transmitter
6.1 The maximum power of the final stage of the transmitter is according to the permit conditions, unless otherwise specified.
7. Competition signal
7.1 At one given moment, each station may have only one competitive signal on one band. Signals necessary to connect to the packet radio network are not considered competitive.
8. Contest Code
8.1 During connections, the competition code is exchanged, consisting of RS or RST, serial connection number from 001 on each competition band separately and WW locator, unless otherwise specified.
9. Scoring
9.1 Unless otherwise stated, one kilometer of distance covered, measured or calculated according to the system, is scored WW locator, by one point. At the same time, this distance must not exceed the actual distance by more than 5 km. 1 point is counted for connecting to a station in the locator's own small square (eg from JN88NE to JN88NE).
9.2 According to the recommendation of IARU Region I, a coefficient of 111.2 must be used for the conversion of degrees to kilometers, taking into account the curvature of the Earth.
9.3 Repeated connections must be marked in the diary (RPT, DUPE, etc.) with a point value of 0.

10. Invalid connections
10.1 Crossband connections do not apply in races, EME, MS and connections established through ground or space transmitters.
11. Own WW locator
11.1 The WGS-84 (World Geodetic System 1984) system is used to determine the latitude and longitude of the competition site, from which the locator is calculated.
11.2 The tolerance of the geographic coordinates of the competition site (from which the locator is calculated) to reality must not exceed a circle with a diameter of 1 km.
12. Connection times
12.1 The times listed in the competition diary must be in UTC only. Connections that were started before the official start of the race, or that were started after the official end of the race, are void.
13. Competition diary
13.1 The competition diary is sent exclusively in electronic form in the EDI format. Logs sent in a different format will only be used for review. The competition diary must be sent no later than the tenth day after the race to the evaluator's address, either on a diskette or by e-mail.

14. Deductions of points for connection
14.1 Deductions of points for connection are based on the recommendation of the VKV commission IARU Region 1 as follows:
a) The connection is invalid for a station that has any error in the log in the received brand and code (disagreement with the broadcast brand and code), that is, in the report, connection sequence number and locator.
b) The connection is invalid for a station that has a connection time difference of more than 10 minutes from the correct UTC time.
c) For a repeated and counted connection, the controlled station will be charged ten times the point value of the counted repeated connection.
15. Station disqualification
15.1 The station will be disqualified by non-evaluation for:
a) non-compliance with the competition conditions
b) listing of uncompleted connections in the competition diary
c) false data in the competition diary
d) missing essential data in the diary
e) specifying a time other than UTC
f) more than 10% of wrongly calculated distances
g) broadcasting from a competing QTH that was assigned to another station, or from its protection zone, if a dispute arises between these stations
