Výsledková listina A1 Contestu / Marconi Memorial contest 2008 je konečne tu a prináša množstvo zaujímavých výsledkov z pásma 144 MHz! Tento tradičný contest, venovaný pamiatke otca rádiokomunikácie Guglielma Marconiho, aj v roku 2008 prilákal stovky rádioamatérov z celého IARU Region 1. Competitors focused on the Single and Multi categories, with each point a QSO they could decide on the final order.
In the Single category, OM3TZQ dominated with a score of 97,139 points, 279 QSOs and a power of 300 W with a dual 12-element yagi, while OM5XX and OM8MF claimed second and third place with quality results and efficient antenna systems. ODX connections sometimes reached almost 1000 km and the average QSO distance confirmed the high level of competition.
In the Multi category, OM8A did not owe anything, which with its huge arsenal of antennas and power of 3.2 kW surpassed all rivals, closely followed by OM3KII and OM6A with excellent results and stable connections. The Multi category showed that the cooperation of several operators and the use of cutting-edge technology can dramatically increase scores and achieve impressive QSOs even at longer distances.
A total of 462 competition dailies from Region 1 countries were evaluated and the operators' performances prove that the quality of connections, efficient antennas and precise planning still determine success in competitions VHF. Tento rok potvrdil, že A1 contest je pre slovenských aj zahraničných rádioamatérov skvelou príležitosťou na overenie svojich schopností a vybudovanie kvalitných DX spojení.
