World Wide Digi DX Contest 2022

The contest is intended for all radio amateurs from all over the world with the aim of establishing as many connections as possible with other radio amateurs in as many large locators as possible using only FT4 and FT8 modes.

Bands

It competes on six basic KV bands: 1.8, 3.5, 7, 14, 21 a 28 MHz.

A. Recommended FT4 subbands

1,840-1,844
3,580-3,589
7,080-7,089
14,080-14,089
21,080-21,089
28,080-28,089

Set the TCVR tuning to the lower frequency of the subband and establish connections with stations in the frequency range within the radio passband, usually wide 2,5 – 4 kHz. If the subband is crowded, increase the TCVR frequency in increments as needed 3 kHz. (for example: 7,080, 7,083 a 7,086)

B. Recommended FT8 subbands

1,844-1,848
3,590-3,599
7,090-7,099
14 090-14 099
21 090-21 099
28 090-28 099

Set the TCVR tuning to the lower frequency of the subband and establish connections with stations in the frequency range within the radio passband, usually wide 2,5 – 4 kHz. If the subband is crowded, increase the TCVR frequency in increments as needed 3 kHz. (for example: 7,090, 7,093 a 7,096)

C. JA sub-bands on 80 a 40 meters:

Zimbabwe flag:

3,528 (AND AND), 3,570 (JA-DX)
7,038 (AND AND), 7,080-7,089 (JA-DX)

FT8:

3,531 (AND AND), 3,573 (JA-DX)
7,041 (AND AND), 7,090-7,099 (JA-DX)

Competition code

The first 4 locator characters (For example: JN89, JO70 etc.).

Scoring

A. Score

The total result is given by the sum of points for all connections on all bands multiplied by the sum of the number of large locators (the first
two letters from the broadcast locator) on all bands. For example: body for 1000 QSO * (70 locator squares) = 70 000

B.Points for connections

Connections are only valid once per band, let me use FT4, or FT8. Each connection is scored one (1) point plus another one (1) a point for each 3000 km distance between the centers of the large locators of both stations. (e.g.. 5541 km = 2 body). Only a short signal propagation path is always considered for distance calculation, regardless of the actual type of propagation.

C. Multiplier

The multiplier is each large two-letter locator square on each band separately.

Categories

A. Category one operator

One person (operator) she performs all activities and logging on her own and without the help of others. It is only possible to broadcast on one band at a given time. The number of band changes is not limited. It is allowed to use any assistance for finding connections.

1. One operator:

a. Great performance (All bands or just one band)

The total output power must not exceed 1500W.

b. Small performance (All bands or just one band)

The total output power must not exceed 100 W.

c. QRP (All bands or just one band)

The total output power must not exceed 5 W.

B. Category More operators (all bands only)

Any number of operators is allowed

1. One transmitter (MULTI-ONE)

Only one broadcast signal is allowed per band. A maximum is allowed 8 band changes during one hour (00 do 59 minutes).

a. Great performance

The total output power must not exceed 1500 watts on each band.

b. Small performance

The total output power must not exceed 100 watts on each band.

2. Two transmitters (MULTI-TWO)

A maximum of two signals can be broadcast on two different bands at the same time. The diary must indicate, which transmitter made the given connection. Each transmitter can perform a maximum 8 of band retuning in one hour (00 do 59 minutes). Total output
power must not exceed 1500 watts on every band at any time.

3. More transmitters (MULTI-UNLIMITED)

All six bands can be in operation at the same time. The total output power must not exceed 1500 watts on each band v
any time.

C. Diary for inspection

Log sent for evaluation review.

Diaries from the contest

All logs must be sent no later than five (5) days after the end of the contest: not later than in 2359 UTC 2. September, 2022. Resubmission of a journal after the deadline for receipt of journals will be classified as a late submission.
