Radios from Riga…

Many of us still have working receivers at home, which have on their production plate as the manufacturer "Riga-103, Riga Radio Plant named after. A. S. Popova (RRR), Radio engineering, Riga ", or one of the polished versions. Many of these receivers still have very decent features and the world is surprised… modern devices manufactured today using the method of consumer "consumption" do not even compare with their parameters. >Cheap and useless< has become synonymous with virtually everything the electronics market has to offer today.
Radios from Riga…

The Radiotehnika company in Riga dates back a year 1926, when he started production under the brand "AL" (Abram Leibovitz) on 40 different models of receivers. Telefunken receivers became the basis for their concept, Kramolin, DeTeWe, Lumophon apod. whose models have become a role model not only, but also due.

Over the years, other plants for the production of radios were established in Riga, and the production of more or less successful models thus grew.. In 1933 it was the race "А Апситиса и Ф. Zhukovsky", which at the beginning of its existence produced about 20 types of receivers.
When in the year 1951 it was renamed to “А. S. Popova "used the race both logos, and only after a year 1971 with the introduction of the official name of the plant "Рижский радиозавод им. A. S. Popova (RRR) the second more well-known logo with three letters "R" began to be used permanently.

Over the years, of course, the plants have innovated their models according to the degree of electronics development in the world. In many products we can find not only electronic gems such as
Riga 10 – Radio 1 class (1952-1958 d.), but also transistor receivers from later times, which also appeared on our market. Many different types were imported to us, but they have always been adapted for our market. In some cases, it was to the detriment, not only in terms of appearance, but also by adjusting the connection.

Here you will find e.g.. receivers Riga 101, 102 or probably one of the most famous Riga 103. 1967-1974 d. Transistor radio receiver (RPP-1)

Modely Selena, which were also available on our market with happiness are still popular equipment for radio listeners, especially for quality processing of input circuits and decent implementation of intermediate frequency.

Almost all models from the production of the plant from years 1926 - To date, it can be found at http://www.radiopagajiba.latbs.lv/RRR/rrrhome.htm, where it is also possible to find diagrams of many receivers and other more detailed information.
