4Y1A – International Civil Aviation Day

Team 4U1A will be active as 4Y1A from Vienna, Austria during the International Civil Aviation Day, 7. – 11. December 2021. The operation will be on HF bands. QSL over UA3DX, ClubLog OQRS.

International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations, which was established in 1944 at the signing of the Convention on International Civil Aviation (Chicago Convention). ICAO cooperates with 191 signatories to the Convention and global industry and aviation organizations on the development of international standards and best practices (STEEP), which States then use in drawing up their legally binding national civil aviation legislation.

There are currently more than 10 000 STEEP, which is reflected in 19 Annexes to the Chicago Convention, overseen by ICAO, and it is through these SARPs and the ICAO Complementary Policy, audit and capacity building efforts, today 's global air transport network is capable of operating more than 100 000 flights daily, and that's safe, efficiently and safely in every region of the world.
